City Smog - Shortens the Life of Trees

As in any large city, smog in Houston is detrimental to the longevity of life for trees and shrubs untreated professionally. Smog is a type of air pollution which can cause severe damage by a component called peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN), which affects trees, shrubs and plants alike.

Spring foliage can be especially sensitive, as it enters leaves through pores turning the underside of leaves a silver color (at times), and beige to brown (at others). Leaves die, and if not treated professionally, the tree, shrub or plant itself may die.

The life of urban trees and shrubs - may not thrive or live as long as they would in undisturbed nature, without proper fertilization and spray treatments. At Tree Medics, we offer plans to keep your trees alive for the long haul. Ask about our Spring and Fall Maintenance Programs, tailored to your property's specific needs.
